SUP Christmas Party

16th December 2013

What an amazing evening - we hoped that one or two people would be brave enough to give a performance, but it was non-stop entertainment (with a short break when the excellent buffet arrived).
We had a wide range of songs, some from the songbook, others that were new to the group. We had solos, duos, trios, the U3A table and Luis led everyone in a song or two.
Some performers even came back for a second song.
As Mark said, "Who would have thought we had so much hidden talent - over 3 hours of ukulele goodness! Thank you to Peter Moss for coming and amazing us. And a big thank you to everybody at The Fingerpost for keeping us fed & watered."

The Crown Christmas Party

13th December 2013
Brian's report of the evening:

Brilliant night at Arch 14. SUP playing until 10.00 before the excellent Hobo King and his Freight Train took over festivities. The venue was great, loved the sawdust on the floor and straw bale seating at the back. A good time had by all.

Highlights I can remember and there were probably more:
Mark joining the Hobo King on stage to sing I Wanna be Like You.
Eddie's Leaning on Lamppost
Ian's Christmas jumper
Bernie's solo verses to those were the days to 100 people (unaccompanied, no mic)
Ross on his boom box
Lawrence's loud singing, loud shirt and washboard

Return to The Crown

Following our post-busk visit to The Crown, Viv received a call from Tracy asking us to return in November 2012   So we did.
This was the first of what was to become a regular event - the second Saturday of every month from about 3.30pm until our fingers can strum no more!
Thanks to Tracy and Steve for making us so welcome.    Click here for the video

Chester Buskulele

Our first outing as a group was on July 7th 2012 to join the Chester Ukulele Big Busk.
We had a brilliant day and we met lots of friendly ukulele players from other groups.
A couple of us returned the next day to join them on the riverside bandstand.
