Stockport Carnival 2014

On a very hot Saturday 26th July a few brave souls joined the carnival parade for a new challenge - walking, playing and singing at the same time. They chose a few easy songs and knew them well by the time the parade reached Woodbank Park.
Joined by three more members they gathered under the gazebo to eat and drink lots of water, then started to play a few more tunes but we then asked to go and play in the Pure Radio arena. Then it was back to the gazebo for a few more tunes before heading home.
A long hot day but enjoyable.

Oh yes, Ian was awarded a prize for best fancy dress - well done.

New Mills One World Festival

A few of our members played on the Folk Train from Manchester to New Mills, then walked up to High Lea Park to play at the festival.

Hyde Town Hall

On Friday 4th July we played at Hyde Town Hall, for the Charity Ball organised by students of Hyde Community College, in aid of the British Legion. We all dressed up for the occasion. While we were entertained by a Swing Band we enjoyed a three course meal, then it was our turn. The audience joined in, especially with our final number, Delilah.

And most of us won a prize or two in the raffle!

Thoms Bar

On Sunday 22nd June a few of us played at Thoms Bar in the afternoon. Not a large audience but people seemed to enjoy it, especially the 84 year old lady who danced to a few of our songs.
